A Technique to Determine which Crop Development Stages Can be Estimated from Spectral Data
نویسندگان
چکیده
Estimates of crop development stage by remote sensing techniques are potentially more cost effective for large areas than present labor intensive estimates. Here, discriminant analysis fo: identi~ying crop aevelopment stage uS1ng mult1spectral data is discussed. The data analyzed were Exotech 100 measurements in four wavelenqth bands (.5-.6, .6-.7, .7-.8, .8-1.1 urn) over field plots of soybeans and corn in West Lafayette, Indiana. Different row spacings, soils, plant populations, planting dates, soybean cultivars and crop years (1978, 1979, 1980) increased the generality of the data set. Results show that development stage classes at the beginning and end of the growi~g, se~son have relatively high class1f1cat10n accuracy. Midseason classes have moderate to low classification accuracies. Overall accuracy increases as development stages are ,pooled to form fewer classes per grow1ng season. Applying discriminant analysis ~o a subset of development stages 1n a season increases classification accuracy.

Estimation of Potential Evapotranspiration and Crop Coefficient of Wheat at Rupandehi District of Nepal
This study is carried out to estimate the potential evapotranspiration (PET) and crop coefficient (Kc) for Wheat, BL 3235 variety. A lysimeter is installed to estimate PET at the experimental farm of Agricultural Research Center of Bhairahawa, which is located in western part of Nepal. The Blaney-Criddle formula is used to estimate the Kc for wheat. The estimated values of PET and Kc for wheat ...
متن کاملPredicting Cut Rose Stages of Development and Leaf Color Variations by Means of Image Analysis Technique
The monitor and prediction of crop developmental stages, particularly harvest time, play an important role in planning greenhouse cropping programs and timetables by cut rose producers. There have been many scientific reports on the application of image analysis technology in estimating greenhouse crop growth stages. In the present research, we studied leaf color variations over time by taking ...

Recent studies showed that remote sensing (RS) is an effective, efficient and reliable technique used in almost all the areas of earth sciences. Remote sensing as being a technique started with aerial photographs and then developed employing the multi-spectral satellite images. Nowadays, it benefits from hyper-spectral, RADAR and LIDAR data as well. This potential has widen its applicability in...

Introduction Understanding the spectral reflectance of different soils and other surface elements forms the basis for analyzing the process of interpreting remote sensing data. Spectral properties of the various phenomena of the Earth's surface are not constant and are changing, based on the complex time and space conditions. Determination of soil chemical properties using remote sensing techni...
متن کاملDetermination of Crop Water Use and Crop Coefficient of Two Hybrids of Sunflower (Euroflor and Sirna) under Drip-Tape Irrigation System
The purpose of this study was to measure daily and seasonal evapotranspiration and daily crop coefficient of two common varieties of sunflower (Sirna and Euroflor) via drip-tape irrigation system. For this purpose, the sunflower water use was determined by daily monitoring of soil moisture at the depths of 10, 20, 30, 40 and 60 cm, and the crop evapotranspiration (ETC) was measured using volume...
